Program Note

I was inspired to write "Dragonfly" because I often see them near the swimming pool. In "Darting Around," I capture the dragonfly's jagged movements. In "On the Water," the dragonfly rests gracefully on the water's smooth surface. I learned that dragonflies can migrate up to 1,500 miles across three generations -- the third movement captures the excitement of an epic, cross-country journey.
